Why participate in a diabetes prevention program?

Prediabetes is a condition in which blood glucose or hemoglobin A1C (HbA1C) levels are higher than normal but not high enough yet to be diagnosed as type 2 diabetes. The National Diabetes Prevention Program, led by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), uses a method proven to prevent or delay type 2 diabetes.

The good news is that our program utilize this method under the guidance of CDC and we can help you lower your risk of developing diabetes.

Why act now? Compared to people without diabetes, those with diabetes are:80% more likely to be hospitalized for heart attack, 100% more likely to develop hypertension, 50% more likely to be hospitalized for a stroke, 70% more likely to die from heart disease or stroke.

In the first 6 months of the program, you will attend classes once a week. Our qualified Lifestyle Coaches will teach you how to increase physical activities, manage stress, modify your behavior and eat healthy.  In the last 6 months of the program, you will meet with our Lifestyle coaches once/twice a month for maintenance.

Successful completion of our program will help you achieve minimum 5% of body weight loss and reduce your chance of developing diabetes by 58%.
